TIDWTFT

If you a new to my blog, TIDWTFT stands for Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday. It is where I document the new and cute things my boys do.

I haven't done an update lately on the boys, so here is what they have been up to...
 A little digging....

Eating off a fork, wrong way though buddy....

Playing in mommy's bed, this is when I told them to "go night night"...
Oh and imagine that some MORE digging. Did I mention all these cabinets they are getting into have locks on them?!?!

Along with all this destroying though they have learned a great skill. They can clean it all up!!!! Now it takes a lot longer than if I was to clean it up and sometimes I have to point to everything but they do it. It makes me so proud and teaches them that if they wanna make a big mess they better be prepared to clean it all up. Now if we can just get the daddy on board ;)

TIDWTFT

If  you are new to my blog TIDWTFT stands for Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday.

- The boys found a gift basket with shredded paper and dumped it all over the floor, drug it all over the house and then proceeded to rip it into even smaller pieces. Ok so maybe I could forget this...because I still am finding pieces everywhere.

- They love to play on the computer.
- They like to get up on the arm of the couch and turn flips. Thanks hunny for teaching them this lovely trick.

- Grant wants to be my little Johnny Appleseed.

TIDWTFT

If you are new here "TIDWTFT" stands for Things I Don't Want to Forget Thursday.

Grant says "thank you" all the time these days. He tells me thank you when I give him food, when he gives me stuff and even when he steals toys from his brother he is polite enough to thank him for the toy he has just stolen. Gabe does not find this the least bit polite though.

Gabe loves to cry for me in the morning and then when I go get him, he crawls to the corner of his crib where I can't reach him. If you remember this post where I turned their cribs around, you will understand why it is hard to get him out. It usually ends in me climbing in the crib to drag him out, bet you all would like a pic of that, huh? How about a pic of the sweet baby instead? I forgot to mention, he also likes to undress himself too.

TIDWTFT

I haven't done one of these in awhile. So if you are new, TIDWTFT stands for Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday.

Both boys decided while we were on vacation that they won't eat meat anymore. They only want chicken. And broccoli? Nope don't like that anymore but green beans are still the best.

Gabe likes to stick his finger up his nose, not to pick it or anything. I guess just because he can. He also thinks it is funny to stick his finger up everyone else's nose too. Silly boy...I guess at least he isn't picking his nose yet because that would drive me crazy.

Grant doesn't let me out of his sight for long. If I am sitting he is going to come sit in my lap and use me as his personal jungle gym.

They both learned to say meow when I ask "how the kitty cat goes?'. It is precious!

TIDWTFT

Grant loves to pretend to talk on the phone. He is straight business while doing so too.

They both love to "cook" and will pretend to bring me food while doing so.

We went to the doctor for their 18 month check up and they both weigh 23 lbs 8 oz. Gabe is 32 in and Grant is 31.5 in. They had a first at the doctor's office, instead of bringing the stroller in they walked. Still not sure if that was a good idea, it was a long walk for the babies and Grant doesn't like to hold my hand but it was nice not to have to navigate my big stroller through the tiny rooms.

TIDWTFT

First off I will apologize for the lack of post, but packing our house has kind of consumed every minute of extra time.

Both babies love to sweep and this momma is NOT complaining. Sorry ladies, they can't date until they are AT LEAST 25 :)

On Sunday at naptime we heard a lot more crying than usual and so we went to see what was up and Grant was just walking around the room. And get this he wasn't the one crying, it was Gabe. I guess he was mad he wasn't free from the crib. We think Grant crawled up on his dresser and eased his way off the dresser and avoided a big fall. So to outsmart him, we turned his crib backwards since the back is higher than the front and he has stayed put ever since.

We had left Gabe's crib the way it was because he showed no interest. Well fast forward to Tuesday and I hear them awake after nap and I go in there and Gabe is laying on the ledge of his crib (the part that is closest to the wall in the picture below) with his arms and legs wrapped around like a monkey hugging a tree. I have no idea if he had just gotten up there or he had been up there awhile and was too scared to get down. Sadly I don't have a picture of this because I didn't wanna risk him falling while I went to get a camera.

Here is the pic of him once we turned his crib around.

TIDWTFT

- We went to dinner on Saturday night and I have been trying to work on sharing with them. So I ask Gabe if he can share a piece of his chicken with Grant so he acts like he is giving it to him and then snatches it back and puts it in his mouth and he continued to show Grant every piece of food before putting it in his mouth. I then asked Grant to give me a piece of his food and he started stuffing the food in his mouth and what wouldn't fit he put in the pocket of his bib. As you can see our lesson in sharing is going great haha.

-While driving home from dinner Saturday night, Gabe was just a chattering, in a language I can not understand. All I heard was "blah blah blah bubba"(bubba is what he calls Grant). Well apparently what he said wasn't very nice because Grant burst into tears. So I guess it is true that twins have their own little language that only they understand.

- They have been having fun playing with pots and wooden spoons lately. Grant will pretend to pick something out of his pot and put it in Gabe's mouth and Gabe says "mmmm".

- Now to the ugly, the climbing. They climb on everything possible...couches, chairs, coffee tables, fireplace hearths. They like to climb on, run on, dance on, jump off. I feel I am constantly redirecting and it is two against one and they are winning....but this too shall pass. By the way, my mom said I never did any of this, so they must get this from their father. Lucky for him he works all day so he doesn't have to deal with it.

TIDWTFT

They both love to give me high fives. Before it was just a guy thing and they would only give them to daddy. Now if my hand isn't out for them to slap they will slap whatever is closest.

They both love to "help" me with laundry and loading/unloading the dishwasher. It often ends up being more work for me but I can't be mad because they have such a good heart while doing it.

The both like to dance. Grant likes to bounce up and down when he dances and Gabe likes to bob his head. They make quite the pair. They are the only babies I know that can rock out to a lullaby.

TIDWTFT

So I am just getting time to sit down and write this post out because we have been crazy busy today.

The boys have been big into "helping" Mommy lately. They "helped" mommy unload the washing machine, dumped all the trash out of the laundry room garbage can and distributed it all around the living room. While I was getting ready for the day I let the boys come in the bathroom with me and they proceeded to dump lucy's water all over the floor, unrolled all the toilet paper, dig in cabinets. Then I took them in their room to get them dressed and while getting one dressed the other emptied their hamper of all the clothers, cleared the bookshelf of all books, and emptied trash. After all this I am reminded why I normally get ready before they wake up or during nap.We then left to meet Nana for lunch, then went to Target (twice), Hobby Lobby, Bath and Body Works, JCPenney, Kirklands, Dillards, then back home for dinner and put boys to bed. Once they were in bed, I went back to JCPenney and to Walmart. Tired yet? I am.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program...

-Gabe started covering his mouth when he cries. About the first three times I ran over to him because I thought he hurt his mouth but now I realized that is not the case.

- Grant has learned to climb out of the tub. Isn't that lovely? He is not a fan of bath time anymore.

- They both love to play peek-a-boo with our new puppy. They use the curtain and cover up the windows on the french doors. So cute!

Things I Don't Want to Forget:

- Grant loves to give bunny kisses. A bunny kiss is when you put your head together and rub noses. Also known as a eskimo kiss but we have been calling it bunny kisses because of Easter I guess.

- Gabe loves to clasp his hands together behind his back when he walk. He looks very sneaky while doing this.

- Grant loves to bring me things that he is not suppose to have like the phone, remotes, ipad. Oh and you must say "thank you" to him for being so kind to bring you those things. If you are sitting long enough you are likely to have every object in the room in your lap.

-Gabe loves to bring me balls and stuffed animals and he wants me to throw them so that he can go "fetch" them.

TIDWTFT

They love to play "Ring Around the Rosie" now. Grant never wants to fall down at the end but Gabe does and they both laugh.

They have enjoyed playing "Peek-a-boo" since they were itty bitty but now Grant puts his hands on his head and waits for you to say it.

"You can't see me"

A new favorite is to drop their food on the floor on purpose. This girl sure doesn't mind though.
Now to the not so good. My sweet boy Grant has been literally pulling his hair out and now has a bald spot. Apparently his life is so stressful. He doesn't just do it to himself though he does it to me and Gabe. I have noticed it mostly when he is tired.

Weekend Away and TIDWTFT

So last Friday Kevin calls me from work around 2 and says he wants to go out of town. He doesn't know where, he just wants to go somewhere. So we debate whether we want to go to San Antonio, Shreveport, Galveston, or Canton. This is improvement from the past when we have decided we wanted to go on a trip last minute and got all packed up in the car drove to the highway and played "any minnie miney mo" to decided whether we would turn left or right and then still had to decide where we were going to go. We decided this time to go to Shreveport. We ended up staying on the Louisiana Boardwalk which is basically an outdoor outlet mall with lots of yummy restaurants. My good friend Ana( or as Grant calls her "Nonna") doesn't live too far from Shrevepot so her and her husband Marc met us there for the day.

Since we were there early and there wasn't many people we let them down to do some exploring.
See where the boardwalk meets the concrete? Both boys would get down and crawl over the line and then stand back up and walk again. I guess they didn't wanna step on the crack and break their Momma's back :)

A picture with "Nonna" and Marc

After all that walking and they got some food in their bellies they were fast asleep.

It was a nice relaxing weekend away.
And the daddy even got a head massage from Gabe :)

TIDWTFT:

- I have been telling the boys "thank you" when they bring me something and also when I give them something so they can learn to say "thank you" to me. I handed Grant his sippy cup the other day and said "thank you" and to my surprise he said "tan too" and for those that don't speak his language, that means"thank you". My boy has more manners already than most adults.
- Gabe's new thing is to climb on the fireplace. So what does any good mother do when their child does something new? Run and get the camera of course! Don't worry Daddy was there to make sure the sweet boy didn't fall.

-They both love to go get things for you. Last night, Kevin would send the car racing down the hallway and the boys would go get it and bring it back and they did this for a long time.

TIDWTFT

Sorry I haven't been updating this thing as often but the weather is just way too pretty to be inside. Also, I will be totally organized Tuesdays every other week now instead of every week like I was before.

Gabe:
- We have been spending a lot of time outside and he has gotten really good at maneuvering in his cozy coupe.
- He likes to go down his slide on his belly and head first.
- He loves to sit on the grass and pick flowers, grass, pine needles.

Grant:
- He started saying Nana (which is what they call my mom) and she got to hear him say it for the first time.
- I sing the ABCs while changing their diaper and he picks up on a few letter and hums the song with me.
- He says "my momma". Jealousy issues already?

Both:
- I took them to the play area at the mall yesterday and they both went through this little tunnel. They got a tent and tunnel for christmas and wanted nothing to do with it, so we might have to drag it back out.

All my boys asleep at the hotel. Needless to say they didn't sleep well in their playpens
This is our azaleas(I think that is what these are.) They only bloom for like 2 weeks a year so we have to get a picture while they last.
Gabe apparently does not want to inherit his Daddy's chevelle.

Update and TIDWTFT

Last Friday, we took the boys to their first festival.
Grant riding the trucks with MiMi
 Gabe and Mommy
The carosel was fine until it started moving....
then Grant man didn't like it. I don't blame him those things go way too fast and I was getting a little motion sick.
They had a petting zoo. How cute is this baby goat? I think the boys though it was our puppy Lucy.
This bunny was cute too except for the creepy red eyes.
Family pic..my Dad and stepmom went with us.
On Saturday we did a little UTV riding.

Ok now onto Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday, this week I will not be doing any individually because they are all things they both do.

- They have been getting into EVERYTHING lately and do things over and over again to see what my reaction is. It's exhausting to say the least. This is probably the reason I haven't been blogging as much haha. If you have any tips, feel free to comment them to me. Oh and another question, when did you start time outs?

-Before now, the boys have always been pretty comfortable around strangers but now if they haven't seen you very often they will give you the cold shoulder. I have noticed they start grabbing my arm really tight when we get around people they are unsure of. Grant pulls his arm in as if he were saying "don't touch me" and Gabe will stick out his lip and just wail.

- They love to blow kisses while I am feeding them. Oh and they also love to play with their hair while eating.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are going out of town for a wedding.

TIDWTFT

Gabe:
-is getting his one year molars in

Grant:
- loves to smack his lips

Both:

- can blow kisses on command
- can point to their mouth when asked "where is your mouth?"
- love to play with cake pans. It gives the daddy a headache but the momma is just happy to have found something that will entertain them.

I have lots of new pictures I will be posting soon.

TIDWTFT

So for those that don't know TIDWTFT stands for Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday.

Gabe:
-I taught him how to say "mmmm" after each bite and now he says it after each bite and giggles.

Grant:
-He comes up to me when I am sitting on the floor and pats my back and says "mama". Now he has been saying mama for awhile now so that is not new but he finally gets that I am mama. Its not just another babbling sound he makes. Such an awesome feeling and what a proud mama I am of both my boys.

Both:
-They have this new thing where they like to trade cheerios when I have their highchairs placed close enough to one another. I even caught it on video. Excuse the bad quality, I really need to start using my video camera for videos insead of my still camera.

TIDWTFT

I can't believe another week has passed and it is already February. For those that don't know TIDWTFT stands for Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday.

Gabe:
He puts his hand up to his ear and starts babbling like he is talking on the phone.

He loves to get in the laundry basket. He will stay in there for thirty minutes just playing with the clothes, not even trying to get out.

Grant:
Started officially walking. He is no longer just taking a couple steps here and there.

Now that he can walk he has started to turn in circles. It makes me dizzy just to look at him.

Both:

We started practicing eating with a fork. They still need some assistance but they are doing very well for their age.

We are on Day 2 of no bottles. Those who aren't around us much probably don't think this is such a big deal. If you knew how much we struggled to find a sippy cup they would take( like I have two of every sippy cup ever made) you would understand how awesome this is.

They love to open and close doors and play peek-a-boo with each other by doing this. For example, Gabe will go in the laundry room and Grant will shut the door almost all the way and then fling it back open and they will laugh and laugh.

If one baby cries because he gets hurt by falling down or smashing his fingers in a drawer, the other baby will cry too. It is neat to see the special bond they have being twins.

TIDWTFT

So if you don't know what TIDWTFT means, it is Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday. Every Thursday I am going to try and write something that the boys have done in the past week that I don't want to forget.

Gabe:

-He loves to stand on his head and look between his legs. So silly!
-If I feed him by fork or spoon, he will take the food out of his mouth look at it and put it back.
- He started saying bear last night. It comes out more like "air" but I know what he is saying.

Grant:
-He finally decided he would say dada. Before he would shake his head no if Kevin tried to get him to say it.
-He calls Gabe "GaGa" or "Bubba"
