I want to hold your hand

Just thought after all the post about biting and tantrums, that I would show you the strong bond between my boys. They love to be near each  other. To this date, there have been only a couple times they were apart and that is just because one went to the doctor and the other didn't need to go and even that was only an hour or so. They slept in the same bed until they were around three months and we had to seperate them because they had to be touching and they would wake each other up all night. No sleep positioner was going to keep them apart. They are like peanut butter and jelly...they go together.

All but one of the pictures was taken on my phone, so I apologize for the bad quality of some of them.

House Tour: Entryway Edition

Last week I started the house tour off with the kitchen, I should have started with the entryway first but well we do things a little backwards around here sometimes.

The front door was one of the "wow factors" the first time we looked at the house. Anyone have tall doors like these? What do you use to hang your wreaths? I am thinking 3M hooks or a door wreath hanger and hanging it by ribbon.

When you walk in the playroom is to your right( before you get to the stairs) and the dining room is to your left. I am sure you spot some of my fall decor in this photo and there will be a post about that coming up very soon.

And looking up there is a opening where you can look down on the entryway from upstairs.

The first door to the left is the half bath. It is the only bathroom on the first floor besides the master. Oh and don't worry it is not really as orange as it appears in the picture. It is more of a mixture of burgandy and rust...somedays I love it and somedays I don't but either way it will stay because my husband has banned me from painting ;). The other door is to the cleaning closet.

What should my boys be this year?

By this time last year I was already sewing up their costumes and this year I have not a clue what my two little ones are going to be.

Here is my issues:
- They are twins and I feel the need to coordinate their costumes. At least until they are old enough to tell me what they want to be.
- I feel the need to make some part of their costume because well that is what I do, I make things. Also, I can't remember a year that my mom ever bought me a costume. They were always handmade or old recital costumes.
- Problem with the handmade part is sewing is not one of my strengths.
- And the biggest issue is... it is going to hard to top last year's costumes.

It doesn't get much cuter than that, does it?

I made their hats out of fleece and felt. The mustaches were also made out of felt and I threaded through a piece of elastic from a party hat on the edge so that it would stay on.

So what shall they be this year ?
Leave me comments with ideas, pictures, links!

TIDWTFT

If you a new to my blog, TIDWTFT stands for Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday. It is where I document the new and cute things my boys do.

I haven't done an update lately on the boys, so here is what they have been up to...
 A little digging....

Eating off a fork, wrong way though buddy....

Playing in mommy's bed, this is when I told them to "go night night"...
Oh and imagine that some MORE digging. Did I mention all these cabinets they are getting into have locks on them?!?!

Along with all this destroying though they have learned a great skill. They can clean it all up!!!! Now it takes a lot longer than if I was to clean it up and sometimes I have to point to everything but they do it. It makes me so proud and teaches them that if they wanna make a big mess they better be prepared to clean it all up. Now if we can just get the daddy on board ;)

House Tour: Kitchen Edition

I figured since we just moved I would do a room-by-room tour of the house. I don't know about you but I like to see the insides of other peoples houses. When we were house hunting I think I got looked at every house in our price range in three counties of our state. And people that is A LOT of houses.
Anyways, so this week we will start with the kitchen.

Totally Organized Tuesday- Cleaning Closet Edition

While our master bedroom closet is pretty massive, all three of our hall closets are so tiny. So tiny that they are almost useless. My cleaning items were housed in the laundry room at my old house but then I realized one of my itty bitty closets was perfect for just that. By the way, these brooms and mops have been working hard lately because well me and these hardwood floor have a love/hate relationship. I love them from a distance but hate them when I get up close to them. The builders obviously didn't care enough to protect the floors while they were working on the house and painting and they are scratched and scuffed up. Anywho....back to the closet. I could do a post just on the floors alone.

Do you have tiny closets in your house? What do you use them for? I have two more closets, one has shelves and houses random things and the other just holds a vacuum and the vacuum barely fits. I am looking for other ways to utilize the space.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more the start of my room-by-room tour of the new house and on Thursday an update on what thing 1 and thing 2 (aka my children) have been up to.

Cinnamon Swirl French Toast

1 loaf of Peppridge Farms Cinnamon Swirl Bread
6 beaten eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla
Butter
Maple Syrup

In a shallow bowl beat together eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, coating both sides. In a skillet or on a griddle melt butter over medium heat. Add bread slices and cook until golden brown. Serve with butter and syrup.

We will not be going back to regular french toast after eating this.
