My Favorite Two Year Olds

I haven't done a Gabe and Grant update in awhile. It could be because these guys keep me busier than ever before.

Gabe

-Neither one of them are talking very much yet(I could do a whole post just about that) but Gabe started putting some words together this week. I went to get them up one morning and he ran up to me with a torn up book and said "Bubba book uh-oh" then looks looks at Grant with disappointment. I think I have found my tattle tale :)

- He loves to wear his daddy's hats, shoes and sometimes sunglasses.

-He thinks he is too big for naps but then he ends up falling asleep in the middle of dinner.

Grant

- When we look at pictures of babies and I ask him "Where's the Baby?" and he of course points to himself.

-He carries a tape measure around and measures everything.

Both

-They rarely take naps now. When they do they crash hard, notice how they are not in their beds, no pillowcases on their pillows, no sheets on their bed and no shirts on.

-Bath time is like being on the front row to see Shamu at SeaWorld. Read: Mommy gets drenched, there is more water out of the tub than in.

- I tried to give them a bubble bath for the first time a month ago and they freaked out. I think they didn't like not being able to see their feet.

-Anytime I open up the fridge they scream "Cheese". They love string cheese.

- When I give one food, they point to the other's tray and want me to give him the same thing. They are all for equal rights.

-They love any kind of "dip", whether it be ketchup, honey mustard, gravy, or alfredo. Even when there is no dip to be found they pretend like they are dipping their food before they eat it.

How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You

Me and the Husband had a night out the weekend before Valentine's so for the actual day we spent it very low key at home with our favorite little love bugs.

They had a day full of sweet treats. Nana had brought over some cookies for them.

For Dinner, we had Steak, Baked Potatoes and Strawberry Napoleons
I had some leftover strawberries so I made some chocolate covered strawberries too. They may not look that good but they were delicious.

"Who Loves You?" Photo Book

What better gift to give your little Valentine than to show them how much they are loved by SO MANY people?

I got the idea for this book from these baby books that they make that you can put photos in but I wanted something a little more grown up for my big guys.

So I found a cheap photo album at Target for a dollar. I used Picnik (boo to them closing in April) to put in text with everyone's name. I only included our immeadiate family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, and first cousins). This book could have easily been 100+ pages if I would have included everyone that loves them but Momma doesn't have that kind of time ;)

I haven't given this to them yet, it is one of their Valentine gifts. I am sure they will love looking at their favorite people though.

Personalized Match Game

My boys are at the age where they like to sort and match things. I thought about buying them a match game but I knew I needed something sturdier than the store bought games for my destructive two.

When we were at my Aunt's house for Christmas the boys entertained themselves with some cardboard coasters, so she sent us home with them. A couple days later I came across them when going through their gifts and I thought they would be perfect for a Match Game. You could also use the coasters some restraunts bring out with your drinks....they are free and you will be recycling :)

Supplies for this project:
coasters
pencil
scissors
scrapbook paper
photos
mod podge
paint brush or foam brush to apply mod podge

These are the coasters we used.

Trace the coaster on the scrapbook paper and cut it out. You can always trim off excess once you have it glued.

Do the same thing to the photo....trace and cut. I used some extra pictures I had left from Christmas cards.

Apply mod podge to the coaster and then place the picture on top.

Once you have the picture on place another layer of mod podge on top and around the edges.
Repeat the same two steps for putting the scrapbook paper on the back.

I only made 6 cards (3 pairs) so that it wouldn't overwhelm them. We can always add more later ;)

Valentine's Decor

I had no clue what I would put on all these shelves after halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas decor were long gone but I just moved straight on to Valentine's Day stuff.

The wreath I used last year on my door was too small for the doors at my new house so I just propped it on the shelf.

I found some cute fabric at Hobby Lobby that looked like vintage valentines and I just had to have it. Since it is not really appropriate for boys attire, I cut out a heart and the word love and put it in a frame backed with some burlap.

Next up, some personalized Valentine gifts for my two littles.

Flashback: Valentine's Projects

I have had my Valentine's Decor up since the Christmas stuff came down. Not sure why I have waited so long to post it. I figured I would start with the stuff I have made in the past.

Valentine's Wreath from the Idea Room.
I used this in my decor again but not as a wreath this year.

Felt Envelopes from the The Crafting Chicks.
I made some special gifts for my favorite little guys to put in these this year.

This is what the boys gave their favorite baby friends last year. I took the wrapper off of some banana puffs and tied a tag that said "I'm going bananas over you".

For lunch last year we had heart shaped grilled cheese, strawberries, and rasberries.

Stay tuned for more Valentine's Day goodies!

Rainy Days

I took this picture yesterday of all my babies sitting at the window watching it rain .

It reminded me of this picture, taken five years ago, that I had of my nephew with Lucy when he was one.
