9 Months

Here are some of the things we have been up to this past month:

- Gabe finally gave up on the "inchworm" and started crawling.

- They both love to blow "rasberries".

- They both would rather be standing up than sitting. But they haven't figured out how to go from standing to sitting.

-They are walking behind push toys now which is exciting and scary all at the same time.

- They love to beat on everything like it is their drum.

-They are eating table foods now. So far they have tried chicken and dumplings, toast, eggs, tortillas, cheddar cheese, pasta and rolls.

- They love to go over all the sounds the different animals make especially the puppy. Grant at first was scared of the tiger but now he thinks it is funny and Gabe will even mimic me when I make the sound of a tiger.

It seems like just yesterday I was sitting in their nursery thinking they would never come and praying time would go faster. Now it couldn't go slow enough.

8 Months Old

What we have been up to for the past month:

- We started eating two solid meals a day. For breakfast we have cereal mixed with fruit and for dinner we have a veggie. Our favorite is Vegetable Risotto with Cheese.

- We also love to eat finger foods like puffs and the baby version of cheetos.

- We started pulling up in our cribs so Daddy had to lower the mattresses.

- Along with pulling up in our cribs, we also pull up on furniture, our walkers, and the fireplace (which scares Mommy).
- We are now 20 lbs, so Mommy bought us new carseats but for now we are just trying them out in the house to get use to them.
- We both got our first tooth.
- Gabe is still doing the "inchworm" instead of crawling. But that does not stop him from climbing through the coffee table and end tables.
-Grant is officially crawling and goes from his tummy to sitting up by himself. He also said "mumma" which daddy says is not the same as "Momma" but it works for me.

A Year Ago Today...

I had an appointment for my first ultrasound. I was 17 weeks pregnant. I hadn't seen the baby yet and my doctor had an ultrasound scheduled for Septemember 3rd but we just couldn't wait so we made a appointment at Sneak a Peek (a local ultrasound place) so we could find out the sex of our little one. I remember this day very well even though alot has gone on this past year. I woke up and my cousin called and we talked about possible names for a boy or girl and even joked about their being twins because of all the twins in my family (Great-Grandma was a twin, Dad is a twin and my Dad's twin sister had twin girls). Hung up with her and got dressed. I chugged water the whole way there to get my bladder nice and full so they would be able to see the baby. Kevin was meeting me there on his lunch break. We were both very anxious and it felt like forever before they called us back but in reality it was probably only minutes. Once she started the ultrasound, we saw the babies head then she found "the money shot" and she said "It's a little boy" and we just stared at each other in happiness. Then we looked back at the screen and I saw the picture I posted above.

I asked the ultrasound tech "what is that round thing at the bottom?" and she rambled on about how sometimes ultrasound can create an optical illusion and the head can look like it is far away or not connected to the lower half of the body just by the way baby is positioned (honestly I don't really remember exactly what she said). As she was saying that she moved the ultrasound wand around and said "Oh my" and I was thinking oh no somethings wrong and then she said "There is ANOTHER baby". Now not only did we find out we were having a boy but we found out there was two babies and the other baby was a boy too. We were shocked and overwhelmed but so happy.
Then we had to tell all our family and friends our exciting news. Most of them we told "It's a Boy and he is going to have a little brother to play with too". Everyone was so excited and in disbelief. I went to my work, my mom's work and then to my dad and stepmom's house to show off the pictures and video we had gotten.
And that was the day our world turned upside down...for the better.
