House Tour: Kitchen Edition

I figured since we just moved I would do a room-by-room tour of the house. I don't know about you but I like to see the insides of other peoples houses. When we were house hunting I think I got looked at every house in our price range in three counties of our state. And people that is A LOT of houses.
Anyways, so this week we will start with the kitchen.

Totally Organized Tuesday- Cleaning Closet Edition

While our master bedroom closet is pretty massive, all three of our hall closets are so tiny. So tiny that they are almost useless. My cleaning items were housed in the laundry room at my old house but then I realized one of my itty bitty closets was perfect for just that. By the way, these brooms and mops have been working hard lately because well me and these hardwood floor have a love/hate relationship. I love them from a distance but hate them when I get up close to them. The builders obviously didn't care enough to protect the floors while they were working on the house and painting and they are scratched and scuffed up. Anywho....back to the closet. I could do a post just on the floors alone.

Do you have tiny closets in your house? What do you use them for? I have two more closets, one has shelves and houses random things and the other just holds a vacuum and the vacuum barely fits. I am looking for other ways to utilize the space.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more the start of my room-by-room tour of the new house and on Thursday an update on what thing 1 and thing 2 (aka my children) have been up to.

2 years ago today...

I found out that I was having a boy, then I found out it was twins, then I found out that boy of mine was going to have a brother to keep him company. So just in case you couldn't follow that, I was 17 weeks pregnant and went to find out the sex of the baby. They told us it was a boy, then we saw another head and found out we were having twins. Then we found out that baby was also a boy. Needless to say we were shocked and still are when we sit back and think about it but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Last year on this day, I made my very first blog post about this very topic. I might not be posting as frequently because we aren't able to get our Internet hooked up until Monday. But no fear when I am back I will have lots of pictures and projects to share of the new house!

Honey Glazed Chicken

I found this recipe over at the blog LaForce Be With You and I made it and it was so yummy I had to share.

Honey Chicken Skewersby: Real Simple Magazine

Ingredients:

1/2 cup ketchup
2 Tbs. honey
1 Tbs. Worcestershire
1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
salt and pepper
wooden skewers

Soak your skewers in water and heat the grill on med-med high. Combine first 3 ingredients in bowl and set aside (you can adjust the amounts to your taste - we like a little extra worcestershire). Slice chicken lengthwise into 1/2 in. strips and thread onto skewers (or you can do smaller pieces like we did). Season with a little salt and pepper if you want. Cook the chicken turning occasionally until cooked thorough 6-8 minutes.During the last 2-3 minutes of cooking baste with the ketchup mixture.

Sides: For the zucchini, you just salt and pepper, put a little oregano, and drizzle with olive oil. I put them in a basket and put them on the grill.

I know my last recipe involved chicken and zucchini. All I can say about that is... my kids are getting pickier and when I find something they like I have to get creative and learn how to fix it numerous ways. I promise not all the recipes I will post will involve chicken and zucchini.

TIDWTFT

If  you are new to my blog TIDWTFT stands for Things I Don't Want To Forget Thursday.

- The boys found a gift basket with shredded paper and dumped it all over the floor, drug it all over the house and then proceeded to rip it into even smaller pieces. Ok so maybe I could forget this...because I still am finding pieces everywhere.

- They love to play on the computer.
- They like to get up on the arm of the couch and turn flips. Thanks hunny for teaching them this lovely trick.

- Grant wants to be my little Johnny Appleseed.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered...It's Ours!

Yesterday was a big day. We sold our old house and closed on the new one on the same day. I was going to come post about it yesterday but we moved most of the contents of our garage and my husbands shop yesterday evening. We are moving the rest tomorrow and will have our first night in our new home.

After lots of ups and downs with this house buying process, we glad that it is done and are ready for new beginnings.

Psalm 37:3-6Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.Commit your way to the LORD,Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,And your justice as the noonday.

Now you might be confused, if you saw a picture of a different house that I posted about a couple months ago. Well that deal went bad last minute and I have enough to write a novel about that whole scenario but I don't really see the point because we have a beautiful house now.

TIDWTFT

If you are new here "TIDWTFT" stands for Things I Don't Want to Forget Thursday.

Grant says "thank you" all the time these days. He tells me thank you when I give him food, when he gives me stuff and even when he steals toys from his brother he is polite enough to thank him for the toy he has just stolen. Gabe does not find this the least bit polite though.

Gabe loves to cry for me in the morning and then when I go get him, he crawls to the corner of his crib where I can't reach him. If you remember this post where I turned their cribs around, you will understand why it is hard to get him out. It usually ends in me climbing in the crib to drag him out, bet you all would like a pic of that, huh? How about a pic of the sweet baby instead? I forgot to mention, he also likes to undress himself too.

Totally Organized Tuesday: Pinterest Edition

Have you heard of Pinterest?
It is like the best thing since sliced bread, in my opinion.

Basically what you do is when you find something on the internet that you want to be able to go back to one day(like decor, holiday ideas, recipes) you link it up(pin it) onto pinterest and organize by categories.
You can also follow people and repin their ideas or seach for ideas.
So this is perfect for those people that have a bajillion links under their "Bookmarks" (that includes you Mom).

Want to see some of the fabulous things I am planning on doing in the boy's playroom?
